Currently, there are 1.6 million homeless children living in the United States and their plights are often hidden from the general public. But here is a visual reminder of the epidemic of poverty and homelessness in this country, and also a call to bring the issue of child homelessness to the forefront of our national dialogue. And as a local reminder, there are nearly 18,000 homeless children currently living in New York City shelters.
