Posted on February 28, 2020 More than 250,000 people in New York State were homeless in the 2018-2019 school year, including more than 150,000 children. Existing public assistance allowances are not enough to help families move from shelters to stable homes. Home Stability Support (HSS) is bipartisan legislation that would enable homeless and nearly homeless New Yorkers to stay out of the shelter system and in secure homes. There is already widespread support for HSS across party lines and throughout New York State. We just need Gov. Cuomo to include HSS in this year’s budget!
