Forty years ago, the Coalition for the Homeless secured the legal right to shelter for New Yorkers without homes, creating a baseline of decency in our city. We need now to build on that baseline, because people need homes. Our Home is Hope campaign aims to advance the truth that housing is a fundamental human right, and to ensure that government policies are designed to facilitate the fulfillment of that right in New York. We have been fighting to end homelessness for 40 years, and we won’t give up.
