Andrew Cuomo declined to directly criticize Mayor Bill de Blasio’s handling of homelessness in New York City, instead leaving his criticisms veiled while promising a full homelessness plan in his upcoming State of the State address. Asked by Lehrer whether Cuomo still thought de Blasio “can’t manage” the city’s homelessness crisis, the governor said “Let’s talk about this. But let’s talk about this not in a political context, okay? Not vis-à-vis the mayor or the president or the senator or the shop owner.”
