Posted on July 6, 2012 by HAJA KAKAY On June 13th Victorian Gardens in Central Park was magically transformed as more than 500 guests enjoyed themselves at our annual benefit, Carnival Night for Kids. The event raised more than $191,000 for the Coalition’s Youth Service Programs, Camp Homeward Bound and Bound for Success. Guests were treated to amusement park rides, arcade games, face painting, and delicious food accompanied by Izze Sparkling Juices, South Pacific Wines and Brooklyn Brewery beer. Vinny Voltage mesmerized children with his popular science show and roaming magicians, balloon artists and cartoon characters provided endless entertainment for all. Parents and kids lined up to get books signed by award-winning children’s book authors – Elise Broach, Adam Rubin, and Doreen Cronin. Our photo booth by the Bosco and pop-up portrait studio by NY Classic Kids were a big hit allowing many families to capture the fun and excitement of the day. Throughout the event, children played carnival games while parents popped balloons at balloon raffle stations to win gift certificates to trendy stores, spas and activities. The night ended with a performance by our Camp Homeward Bound counselors, giving guests a taste of the amazing work they do at camp each summer. Families went home with gift bags filled with goodies for the entire family. Special thanks to our title sponsor, DRAFTFCB and Laurence Boschetto and to all of our event sponsors, Benefit Committee members, and supporters who helped make this our most successful Carnival Night ever!
