Bronx Lawmaker Seeks Bill to Make it Harder for the City to Open Homeless Shelters

State Sen. Jeffrey Klein wants more time for neighborhoods to review proposals. Advocates said the bill would slow down housing for the very needy. A Bronx lawmaker will introduce controversial legislation Monday to force the city to alert communities before opening social service facilities in their neighborhoods.
