Help Camp Homeward Bound run for another 40 years and beyond!
As Camp Homeward Bound celebrates its 40th anniversary – and 40 years of providing a high-quality camp experience to homeless and formerly homeless kids – the Coalition for the Homeless is launching a Camp Homeward Bound 40th Anniversary Capital Campaign with the goal of raising $400,000.
CHB is still running as strong as ever, but properly maintaining 24 buildings, 30 tent platforms, a beachfront, docks, and more can become a financial burden. The planned restoration includes new windows and doors, repaired roofs and floors, and a retaining wall for our beach to preserve a campground that has been enjoyed by homeless children for four decades. We will also be able to purchase new bookshelves and furniture for the library and a large new tent to cover the platform of the beloved Fairies Unit.
Our campers notice the little things, and these renovations make all the difference in their eyes. For children who have lost their homes, knowing that something new was put in place just for them can be an overwhelmingly touching and meaningful experience – and one they deserve.
We are asking for your help now to raise a total of $400,000 to make these essential renovations. This includes $50,000 to create a capital reserve that will help ensure another 40 years of high-quality camp experiences for homeless children.
We hope you will consider making a gift to the Camp Homeward Bound 40th Anniversary Capital Campaign to make sure that homeless children still have a beautiful and well-maintained place to go be kids in the summer.
Your contribution to the Camp Homeward Bound 40th Anniversary Capital Campaign will help ensure that Camp can continue to meet the needs of homeless children and provide a place where they feel safe and can just be kids again.
