Posted on December 20, 2023 by G. Worth As we come to the end of our 2023 Holiday Toy Drive, we want to offer our supporters our deepest gratitude. Thanks to their generosity, this year we are now distributing nearly 10,000 toys to children in New York City shelters! Two children at the Kids Holiday Party 2023 With more than 32,000 kids in Department of Homeless Services (DHS) shelters right now – the highest number ever – these little acts of warmth and kindness mean a lot to these children and their families. We kicked off the giving season by throwing our annual Kids Holiday Party on Saturday December 16th. More than 100 children joined us for an afternoon of games, music, festive food, and a magic show. Plus, with a personal visit with Santa himself, kids left the party overjoyed, with their arms full of goodies and presents. And the Kids Holiday Party is just the start. Thanks to our donors, the act of giving can continue! In shelters across the city, thousands of children will receive action figures, dolls, cars, plush toys, and so much more, giving them that same feeling of magic and joy for the holidays! Most importantly, we hope these gestures of kindness will stick with these kids for years to come. Many thanks to Spectrum News and Roger Clark for once again featuring our Toy Drive in the news, which resulted in an overwhelming wave of toys and support. We also deeply appreciate all of the companies that participated and helped make all this possible, especially AlphaSense, Amazon, Andersen TAX, Antin Infrastructure Partners, Argo Group US, Barclays, Carnegie Corporation of NY, Sensor Tower, Siguler Guff & Company and Suffolk Construction and so many more! And a special thanks to all the individuals who shared info about and supported the drive to help us reach our goal. At this time of year, these simple acts of kindness can have wonderfully positive repercussions in the lives of the kids And after all, isn’t that what the giving season is all about? Thank you again, happy holidays and wishing all success and happiness in the New Year, from everyone at the Coalition for the Homeless.
