Posted on May 25, 2016 Over four months ago the Governor announced a commitment to build 20,000 units of supportive housing for homeless New Yorkers across the state, but so far not one penny has been spent to meet this urgent goal. Right now, all that is preventing the State from building the first 6,000 new units of supportive housing for the most vulnerable homeless individuals and families is a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Governor and legislative leaders. Join us in emailing our legislative leaders to urge them to get the job done! With only a few weeks left in the legislative session, the urgency is immediate. Tell them to SIGN THE MOU so we can build the supportive housing we need to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness for thousands of our neighbors.
