These are units that would house homeless individuals trying to cope with mental illness or addiction in an effort to break the cycle of chronic homelessness across New York. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has committed funding for 15,000 units of supportive housing already, but Governor Cuomo has so far been silent. Senators George Amedore and Cathy Young, both of which signed on to a letter urging action from the governor, joined us to talk more about this.
