First Step empowers homeless and formerly homeless women– many single moms and victims of domestic violence – to succeed in the workforce. Through computer and other hard skills training, internships and comprehensive supportive services we give women the tools to reach their goals and build a better life for themselves and their families. Sponsored by Brookside Foods and GOOD Magazine, The Brookside Foods Giving Back Challenge honors local organizations moving the world forward and initiating positive change in the communities they serve. Voting will take place through Friday, December 9th, with approximately 120 organizations competing for the grant award.
