2024 Summer Soirée welcomes over 100 compassionate New Yorkers for an evening of connection and charity, raising over $40,000

On Thursday, May 16th, the Coalition for the Homeless Junior Board hosted the 2nd annual Summer Soirée which, thanks to the generosity and compassion of our guests, raised over $40,000.

The event is fast becoming a can’t-miss occasion for professionals who care about their city. This year, over 100 of these ambitious people came together at Tao Downtown Nightclub for a night packed with connection, philanthropy, delectable delicacies, and divine drinks.

At the event, the Coalition for the Homeless Executive Director Dave Giffen shared some staggering figures on homelessness in New York, before bringing attention to the Coalition’s 11 life-changing programs.

“There are roughly 300,000 people homeless in New York City tonight, including nearly 150,000 in shelters” he said. “And while those figures are daunting, everyone should remember that there are solutions, and by being at this event all of you are helping the Coalition serve more than 3,500 homeless at at-rsk individuals every day. We are so grateful to the Junior Board and their guests for their commitment to helping our most vulnerable neighbors.”

Special thanks go to our generous sponsor, Cravath, and our liquor sponsor, Sake Ono who supplied their delicious sake, together with food pairings and floral arrangements on the night. Beyond the networking, VIP guests walked away with plates from the Artist Plate Project, and five sold-out and limited edition plates were given away as door prizes to five generous donors. These rarity collectibles were a highlight of the evening

And finally, a huge thank you to the Coalition’s Junior Board for making this such a special night. We look forward to many more wonderful Summer Soirée events ahead.
