ARTWALK NY will bring together artists, art lovers, and other compassionate New Yorkers to celebrate the profound impact of the arts community on our society and support the vital work of the Coalition for the Homeless. This year’s event will feature not only silent and live art auctions and a cocktail party, but also a special seated dinner during the program. Our silent auction will feature original plates created by nearly 100 artists and will be available for bidding online.
The Coalition for the Homeless is a leading New York direct service and advocacy organization providing assistance to over 3,500 homeless individuals daily. Since 1981, the Coalition has helped more than one million New Yorkers transition from homelessness to housing security through comprehensive services including emergency food and clothing distribution, eviction prevention, crisis intervention, permanent housing solutions, vocational training, and specialized youth programs.

Artist Honoree – Sheree Hovsepian
Sheree Hovsepian is an Iranian-born, New York-based artist whose multidisciplinary practice combines photography, sculpture, and collage to explore themes of identity, the body, and materiality. Her layered, sculptural compositions incorporate tactile materials and photographic elements, creating works that blur the boundaries between object and image, offering an embodied experience of photography.
Her work was featured in the 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, The Milk of Dreams, curated by Cecilia Alemani. Recent exhibitions include solo presentations at Rachel Uffner Gallery in New York and Halsey McKay Gallery in East Hampton, NY. She has also been included in major group exhibitions such as Love Songs: Photography and Intimacy at the International Center of Photography, NYC, and Affinities for Abstraction: Women Artists on Eastern Long Island, 1950–2020 at the Parrish Art Museum, Southampton, NY.
Hovsepian’s work is held in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Bronx Museum, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Everson Museum of Art, among others. She currently lives and works in New York City.
In addition to her artistic practice, Hovsepian has been an ongoing supporter of the Coalition for the Homeless, contributing to the organization’s efforts to support and advocate for New Yorkers experiencing homelessness.
Philanthropic Honoree – Michelle Hellman Co-Founder & Curator of the Artist Plate Project
For more than 12 years, Michelle has been a dedicated member of the Art Advisory Board for the Coalition for the Homeless. In 2020, she launched and curated the Artist Plate Project, an initiative that has since partnered with over 150 world-renowned artists to create limited-edition, artist-designed dinner plates. To date, the project has raised over $8 million in support of the Coalition’s life-saving programs.
Looking ahead to our ARTWALK NY 2025 event, Michelle has envisioned a bold new chapter for the Artist Plate Project: a collaboration with 100 artists to produce 100 original, one-of-a-kind plates. These unique works will be auctioned as part of a special celebration of art, activism, and community — all in support of New York’s homeless population. Michelle has generously committed to securing all 100 participating artists, helping to make this ambitious project a reality.
